Selected Projects

  • Xfire Debate Club Presents: The State of Independent Games – Indie Game Days was a two-day event comprised of a live chat with independent game developers who answered audience questions about game design and the trials and tribulations involved in breaking into the game industry, and a debate on the current state of independent games, the issues involved in the development and marketing of game, and what the future looks like for the genre of indie games. Guests included Jenova Chen, Amanda Fitch, and Jay Barnson. (January 2008)
  • Xfire Debate Club Presents: Women and Gaming – This Xfire Debate Club live chat event presented a discussion amongst leading industry women about issues that are of particular concern to women gamers. The top minds from journalism, academia, pro-gaming, marketing, and development talked about the issues facing women gamers as consumers, as players, and in the industry. Guests included Colette Bennett, Amber “Athena Twin” Dalton, and Helen Kennedy. (October 2007)
  • Xfire Sci-Fi Week – A week of live chats with award-winning science fiction novelists, artists, and creators. Guests included Charles Stross, Peter Watts, Vernor Vinge, Brian Herbert, Kevin J. Anderson, Jim Butcher, James Patrick Kelly, Dan Abnett, Michael Whelan, Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, R. Stevens, and Spider Robinson. (August 2007)
